Accordingly, the Tax authorities are required to inventory and review tax codes, ensuring timely control of taxpayers to monitor and manage tax.
Through monitoring operation of enterprises, the Taxman at all levels have detected cases of false or insufficient declaration and failure to timely pay tax amounts, and taken measures to handle in a timely fashion, thereby enhancing efficiency of the tax administration and supervision of tax declaration.
The General Department of Taxation has promoted reform and application of information technology, and widely deployed tax declaration support applications and electronic tax services based on new architecture and technology with many utilities, and supported tax payers in tax declaration in convenient and accurate manner.
In the first six months of 2024, the Tax agency received and processed over 6.2 million declarations, accounting for 94% of the total number of declarations, of which the rate of declarations submitted on time reached 99%.
Along with facilitating taxpayers, Tax administrations continue to promote the fine against taxpayers for late submission of tax declarations. The Taxman has made and sent 42,047 administrative violation records for 56,989 tax declaration dossiers to 38,075 taxpayers.
Regarding the settlement of VAT refunds, the Ministry of Finance has directed the General Department of Taxation to request the Taxman to perform VAT refund in accordance with the law, ensuring transparency and without causing concern in public opinion.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Taxman issued 8,346 VAT refund decisions with a total tax refund amount of VND 60,877 billion. At the same time, the regulator inspected 2,446 VAT refund decisions with the total VAT arrear and fine at VND105.5 billion. Of which, the VAT arrear was VND79.9 billion, the fine was VND25.6 billion; and the tax amount paid into the State budget was VND75.9 billion.
By the end of July 2024, the Tax authority issued 10,494 VAT refund decisions with a total tax refund amount of VND 76,355 billion, reaching 107% compared to the same period in 2023.
