According to the latest data from the General Department of Taxation, by the end of July, the Tax sector conducted 42,784 inspections at taxpayers' offices and inspected 219,318 tax declaration dossiers at tax offices. Accordingly, total tax amount proposed to be handled through inspections was estimated at VND24,237 billion. In particular, the total additional tax revenue through inspections was VND6,724 billion VND; the deduction was VND1,105 billion and the reduced loss was VND16,406 billion.

Notably, by the end of July, the Tax sector inspected 214 enterprises engaged in associated transaction activities. Thereby, the tax amount proposed to be handled through inspections was VND6,748 billion. of which: tax arrears, tax refund and fines were VND837 billion; reduced loss was VND2,774 billion; the deduction was VND11 billion and revenue from upward revision of taxable income was VND3,123 billion. At the same time, inspections and re-determination of market prices for associated transactions collected VND236 billion, reduced a loss of VND1,088 billion and increased VND2,942 billion from taxable income

In 2019, according to the plan, the Tax sector strives to inspect at least 19% of enterprises subject to tax administration. Therefore, from the beginning of the year, the Tax sector has taken measures to step up tax inspection and conducted key inspections for fields with high tax risks and taxes with risk of anti-revenue loss.

The General Department of Taxation has also regular requested tax departments to handle and effectively prevent harassment and trouble to people and enterprises in inspections. Accordingly, tax agencies must strengthen discipline, prevent violations and improve the performance of public service and reputation of civil servants in charge of inspection. The Department of Taxation also directed tax departments to seriously comply with regulations on works that civil servants and public employees are not permitted to do. The Tax sector always strictly follows Directive No. 10 / CT-TTg dated April 22, 2019 of the Prime Minister on enhancing the handling and effectively preventing harassment and trouble to people and enterprises in duty performance.

The General Department of Taxation also directed the tax departments to strictly comply with the law on public service, civil servants and law on inspection, citizen reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations and anti-corruption; strictly implement professional procedures; tighten discipline, enhance responsibility, improve professional ethics of inspectors in the duty performance.

In particular, the General Department of Taxation requested tax departments to strictly comply with working regulations of their units; code of conduct of inspectors, especially the responsibility of the head, civil servants and inspectors in raising morality, lifestyle, in performing tasks of inspection, citizens reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations and prevention of corruption; effective use of working time and public assets; specify the tasks and responsibilities of each civil servant and officer.

Currently, in order for the inspection and examination to be transparent and effective, the General Department of Taxation is gradually bringing information technology applications into the tax administration and inspection. In addition, the General Department also continued to upgrade applications to support inspection for reporting, synthesizing and settling denunciations; upgrade applications to control the amount and quality of financial statements; build and perfect regulations and procedures to improve the quality and operational efficiency of inspection and examination work. Moreover, in addition to information technology applications, the Tax sector is also focusing on adding human resources for tax inspection.

The General Department of Taxation has directed tax departments to mobilize maximum human resources for inspection. Tax departments make specific plans, assign tasks and control tasks of each divisions and units.
