Start importing eggs and salt from 17 April

VCN - In 2017, Vietnam will import eggs and salt under tariff quotas from 17th April 2017 to 31th December 2017.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a new regulation on the import tariff quota for salt and poultry eggs in 2017. Specifically, the import tariff quota in 2017 is regulated as follows: 50,051 dozens eggs (including chicken eggs, duck eggs, goose eggs and others) and 102,000 tons of salt.

The allocation of import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 04/2014/TT-BCT dated January 27, 2014 of the Minister of Industry and Trade stipulated on the implementation of Decree No. 187/2013/ND-CP of the Government stipulating the implementation of the Commercial Law regarding international trading and retailer activities, processing and transit to overseas activities.

Tariff quotas for salt imports shall be assigned to traders directly used as raw materials for production of chemicals and used as raw materials for the production of drugs and medical products.

Import tariff quotas for poultry eggs shall be assigned to traders having business registration certificates or business registration certificates which have import demand.

The timing for allocation of salt import tariff quotas will follow the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in order not to affect the consumption of domestic salt.
