Real estate businesses top list of tax debts

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Taxation has recently published a list of 2,325 businesses and individuals who owe tax debts, with total amount of tax debts, fines and late payments up to VND 5,410 billion.
In this list, many businesses owe huge tax debt. In addition to the aforementioned huge debt, there are 10 businesses that owe tax of more than VND 100 billion, including Phu Dinh Port Joint Stock Company (District 8) owing VND 153.6 billion; public utility company (District 5) owing more than VND 145 billion; a branch of An Phu Company Limited (District 2) owing VND 141 billion; Tan Tao Group owning more than VND 112 billion; Lam Vien Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (Binh Thanh District) owing nearly VND 103 billion; Investment and Construction No. 8 Joint Stock Company (Binh Thanh District) owing VND 119.4 billion; Thai Thinh Capital Joint Stock Company (District 3) owing VND 119 billion; and Dong Mekong Construction - Manufacture – Trading – Service Co., Ltd, owing VND 115 billion.

The debt list shows that 13 businesses owe taxes from VND 50 billion to less than VND 100 billion; 59 businesses from VND 10 billion to less than VND 50 billion; 477 businesses from VND 1 billion to less than VND 10 billion and the remaining VND 200 million to less than VND 1 billion.
