VCN - The tax sector is working to prepare to launch the electronic tax application for mobile devices (Etax-mobile) for individuals to install and use.

According to the General Department of Taxation, implementing the Prime Minister's Decision No. 749/QD-TTg approving the national digital transformation programme to 2025 and orientation to 2030, including reaching "80 % of online public services is at level 4 and provided on various devices, including mobile devices" by 2025. In recent times, the General Department of Taxation has provided electronic tax services for businesses and individuals. Up to now, 99% of businesses have used electronic tax services and applied digital signatures on electronic dossiers to send to tax authorities.
However, the General Department of Taxation also found most individuals had not fully accessed tax policies and services. The fulfillment of tax obligations was still confusing. The reason was the supporting software was not as convenient for businesses, with tax declaration forms for individuals rare and lacking electronic tax payment service as well as information about tax obligations.
To solve these problems, the General Department of Taxation has directed specialised units to analyse the technical and professional processes to build the Etax-mobile application, as well as preparing the necessary conditions for the application to be put into practice.
In the near future, the version of Etax-mobile for iOS and Android platforms will be provided to individuals to install and use. Besides supporting the functions provided on the e-tax system via the web platform, Etax-mobile will provide advanced services for users to experience and add a function to look up information on dependent and support person for individuals to pay online taxes by linking with the bank's payment application.
According to the General Department of Taxation, with 60 million individuals having tax codes, the use of Etax-mobile will help taxpayers easily access tax administrative procedures and communicate with tax authorities. Individuals can fulfill their obligations transparently and conveniently.
In addition, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the introduction of Etax mobile applications for individuals is the most basic solution to meet the policy of limiting direct contact and contributing to pandemic prevention.
It is expected that in August, the General Department of Taxation will launch the first version. After that, the General Department of Taxation will collect the opinions of organisations and individuals to perfect the application and accelerate the signing of agreements, and deploying electronic tax payments with intermediaries or banks.
