Quang Ninh Customs a bright spot in revenue collection

Attract businesses to carry out customs procedures

At Hon Gai Seaport Customs Branch – the branch with the highest revenue of Quang Ninh Customs Department – by the end of October, the branch processed procedures for 15,125 declarations with a turnover of import and export goods of US$4,028 million, increasing by 9.8% in the number of declarations and 11.74% in turnover year-on-year.

The number of businesses increased by 9.15% year-on-year, from 306 businesses to 334 businesses, of which, 100 new businesses registered and carried out procedures.

By the end of October 31, the branch collected and contributed VND4,976 billion, increasing by 4.18% year-on-year. By the end of November, the branch expects to hit the target of VND5,500 billion forthe whole of 2020. The items with major revenue are petroleum products, raw materials for animal feed production, raw materials for vegetable oil production, imported scrap iron and steel, as well as exported wood chips.

According to the leader of Hon Gai Seaport Customs Branch, in order to increase four targets on the number of declarations, import-export enterprises, turnover and revenue, the branch has promotedsupport, accompanyingbusinesses, building, developing partnerships, attractingand creatingfavorable conditions for businesses; focused on the quality of public servicesthrough training, improving the qualifications, spirit and service attitude of civil servants; applied information technology systems and customs software to shorten the time of customs clearance and release.

It has also strictly controlled the pandemic and prevented the congestion of goods and vehicles at the port.

At land border gates, Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch manages the most active area of imports and exports in Quang Ninh province. The business attraction is one of the bright spots of the branch in the third quarter of 2020.

Specifically, through implementing synchronous and drastic solutions, creating an open, transparent and safe environment, the branch has attracted 605 import and export enterprises, of which 228 enterprises where in the province and 377 enterprises outside the province.

Notably, it has attracted 212 new enterprises carrying out procedures compared to 2019, with a turnover of US$70 million, contributing VND103 billion to the branch’s revenue. By the end of October 31, the branch’s revenue reached VND955 billion, reaching 81% of the target assigned by Quang Ninh Customs Department (VND1,180 billion).

Strives to hit the target of VND11,500 billion

Talking to Customs News, the leader of the Import and Export Duty Division (Quang Ninh Customs Department) said that compared to the revenue target of VND10,500 billion assigned by the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Customs in 2020, currently Quang Ninh Customs Department has accomplished the target. By the end of November, Quang Ninh Customs expectsto collect VND10,661 billion, exceedingVND161 billion.

"In the last months of this year, the division is actively advising leaders of Quang Ninh Customs Department to synchronously implement many solutions to increase and exceed the revenue," the leader of the Import-Export Duty Division said.

At the end of the year, Quang Ninh Customs department launched the movement "90-day sprint emulation".

Particularly, the department strives to collect and exceed VND11,500 billion, an increase of VND1,000 billion compared to the assigned target.

To achieve the above target, Quang Ninh Customs Department is promoting training, retraining and implementation of innovation activities in managing human resources based on capacity and working position to meet therequirements; strengthening customs control operations onthe prevention of smuggling and illegal cross-border transportation of drugs and goods.

At the same time, the department also synchronously and effectively deploysrisk management measures and techniques and improves the quality of collected information for enterprises and key products.
