Quang Ninh: 117 more enterprises operate import-export activities via seaport

VCN – In the first five months of 2018, there were 286 enterprises engaged in importing and exporting goods through Quang Ninh seaports, an increase of 41% over the same period of 2017 (equivalent to 117 enterprises).

That is the statistics of Quang Ninh Customs Department in the working session with Maritime Administration of Quang Ninh to find solutions in order to remove difficulties and obstacles to contribute to promoting import and export activities, as well as for means of transport on entry and exit via seaports.

At the same time, there were 6,738 turns of boat on entry and exit, an increase of 62.2% over the same period last year. The total import and export turnover through seaports was $US 2.2 billion, up 8.2% same period in 2017.

At the working session, two parties agreed to further develop the quantity and quality of enterprises involved in production and operate business in Cai Lan port industrial zone with information and promotion channels for ship owners, so that consignors can easily reach each other.

At the same time: Actively working with shipping lines to reduce costs for enterprises that are shipping goods through two shipping lines (Zim, Huyndai) when the goods are carrying out procedures at Cai Lan port; Work with Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company and Cai Lan International Container Co., Ltd, to consider the discount of loading and unloading services at Quang Ninh seaport; Temporarily stop collecting the fee of seaport infrastructure at Van Gia Port.

Proposing to the provincial People's Committee to allocate funds for investment in upgrading and transforming infrastructure in Cai Lan industrial zone, such as: Repairing internal roads of industrial parks; Remediation of special drainage systems at locations or floods, a potential safety risk for some occupations; Install street lighting systems from overpass to port area; Investing in a free parking lot for businesses waiting for their goods to be widely and conveniently assigned by the port management.
