Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 16 chaired an online Government conference on the building and perfection of institutions, which saw the participation of representatives of 63 cities and provinces nationwide.
Opening the conference, PM Chinh said that the building and perfection of institutions have been defined by the Party and State as one of the tasks of strategic breakthrough. He asked participants to review the work over the years, point out reasons behind problems and sketch out goals and tasks in the future.
The PM stressed that the building of institution must be made in line with the Party's policies and the Constitution, focusing on building a law-governed socialist State, completing socialist-oriented market economy institutions, strengthening international integration, with Party building being the core and economic development being a central task and national protection being a major mission.
At the event, leaders of ministries, sectors and localities discussed the fundamental principles in the work, while assessing achievements and lessons in the field.
Concluding the conference, PM Chinh clarified that the building and improvement of institutions should become the leverage and motivation for the attraction of resources for development, including human, natural, cultural resources and historical tradition.
The Government leader stressed the need to speed up decentralisation in association with the bearing of responsibility as well as the close supervision, inspection and control of power. It is necessary to fight corruption, negative phenomenon and vested interest in the process, he added./.
