PM reiterates determination for constructive government
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the request on August 17 in Hanoi while hosting a meeting reviewing State administrative reforms from 2011 to 2015 and tasks until 2020.
Prime Minister Phuc reiterated his determination to build a constructive, incorruptible government, who should act aggressively to serve the people and develop the nation.
He said state employees from central to local levels should uphold their responsibilities in administrative reform.
“A government that serves citizens cannot let citizens serve it. The people pay taxes for us to work for them. We should continue with strong reform of the public finance system and use taxes effectively for the common benefit of the people and society. Public spending should be lawful, transparent, and publicized. We cannot be irresponsible in using the people’s money. Local leaders should practice thrift and fight waste," the cabinet leader said.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced the administrative reform indexes for 2015. The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) ranked first with an index of 89.42%, followed by the Ministries of Finance and Transport.
Danang topped the list of central cities performing well in administrative reform with 93.31%, followed by Hai Phong, Dong Nai, and Thua Thien-Hue.
