Party leader"s first activities highlighted in Hungary
Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong and his high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Ferenc Lizt International Airport in Budapest on the afternoon of September 8, starting their official visit to Hungary at the invitation of Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
An official welcome ceremony for the Vietnamese Party chief and his delegation took place at the airport.
Those among welcoming guests include Balogh Csaba, Minister of State at Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Tien Thuc, Vietnamese embassy staff and a large number of Vietnamese residents in Hungary.
Vietnamese community representatives greet the Party chief and the Vietnamese delegation at the airport.
Party leader Trong visited Szentendre - an ancient city lying on the bank of Danube River in Pest County, about 20 km from Budapest capital city of Hungary, on September 9.
Mayor of Szentendre city Verseghi-Nagy Miklos gives a warm welcome to the Vietnamese delegation.
Mayor Miklos introduces the city’s history, culture and tourism to the Party leader.
Party chief Trong buys a traditional souvenir made by local people.
Szentendre set up relations with Hoi An city of Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam.
Mr Trong visits the Vietnamese Embassy and talks with embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese representatives in Hungary.
The Party leader meets Hungarian Socialist Party Chairman Tóth Bertalan.
