The 29th APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM) officially opened on November 8 morning as part of activities underway during the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week in the central city of Da Nang

Overview of the AMM opening ceremony

Deputy Prime Minister and Chair of the 2017 APEC National Committee Pham Binh Minh and Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh co-chaired the meeting.

Deputy PM Minh said the AMM aims to reach a consensus among foreign and economic ministers of APEC member economies, laying a foundation for a meeting of leaders of APEC member economies in the coming days.

Minister Tuan Anh said member economies are making every effort to finalize APEC plans and initiatives, under which they have shown cohesion serving as a driving force for regional development.

Before the opening ceremony, Deputy PM Minh and Minister Tuan Anh talked with delegates.
