So, it is not only the announcement, followed by Directive No. 11/CT-BCT on environmental protection in the whole sector of Trade and Industry, in October of 2016, the Ministry issued a specific action plan.

Beside the establishment of the groups to inspect environmental protection activities in enterprises; launching an environmental protection competition in the whole sector of Industry and Trade on the Information Portal at www.moit.gov.vn, MOIT also require enterprises and corporations to report.

Specifically, Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) needs to evaluate the results of improvement in operating process of the electrostatic precipitator system during the launching of boiler at Duyen Hai 1 and Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plants in terms of environmental protection with consideration of fire safety and prevention factors; establish a plan to solve the problem of air pollution in the booting process and report to the MOIT before June.

This group has to also review the communication results in Duyen Hai 1, Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plants, and on that basis, building communication programs to fully inform on the operation of thermal power plants and the environmental protection mission to the people of the neighborhood.

EVN is directing, urging Duyen Hai 1 thermal power plant to complete the confirmation of environmental protection projects before March; directing thermal power units to review and standardize methods, transportation solutions and waste disposal to ensure the storage of slag ash is safe and there are no emissions which effect the environment.

For projects under construction, EVN should direct Project Management Units to closely coordinate with the contractor to strengthen the protection of the environment during construction and operation testing.

Vietnam Chemical Group needs to steer DAP 1, 2 Corporation to reinforce the GYP waste grounds to avoid erosion, dust and gas emission, ensure the safety of environment during the rainy season. Also, they have to implement the management solutions, process the GYP waste grounds in accordance with its commitment of environmental protection; Steer Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Company to thoroughly treat waste water to ensure the environmental protection requirements, submit to MOIT previous report in June.

Vietnam Oil and Gas Group should direct Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant to complete the confirmation of completion of environmental protection projects, implementation of slag ash management measures in accordance with the provisions.

In addition, other units such as Viet Nam Coal - Minerals Industry Group, Vietnam Steel Corporation, Vietnam Textile and Garment Group also have to direct concerned units to solve problems related to environment.

Earlier, the Ministry of Trade and Industry announced a list of 30 projects, thermal power plants, chemical factories, hydropower plants which are likely to cause environmental pollution in the area of "special supervision".

Currently, the whole Industry and Trade sector has 64 facilities which already had the certification Decision of thoroughly treating pollution according to Decision No. 64/2003/QD-TTg A; 7 facilities had completed the requirements under Decision No. 64/2003 / QD-TTg but not yet certified.

Among them, there are 5 units that were decommissioned or shut down the part causing environmental pollution in accordance with Decision 64/2003/QD-TTg(Dong Nam Textile Company, the Duc No.1 Company, Tan Thuan Steel Plant, Binh Loi Leather Enterprises, Flour Product sand Paper Joint Stock company); 2 units completed requirements of thoroughly treating environmental pollution according to Decision No. 64/2003 / QD-TTg and sent documents to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of related provinces in order to ask for the completion certification of thoroughly treating serious environmental pollution with Decision No. 64/2003/QD-TTg (Co Dinh Chromium Mining, Hanoi - Hai Phong Beer Joint Stock company).
