INTERPOL pays attention to the seizure of smuggled ivory of Vietnam Customs

The ivory was seized by Customs officers.

As the Customs Newspaper reported, on October 1, 2016, at Noi Bai International Airport, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department (under the General Department of Customs) and the Customs Branch of Noi Bai International Airport coordinated to seize 309kg of African ivory hidden in a shipment of hydraulic glasses.

In order to exchange information with the Secretariat of INTERPOL, the External Relations Department under the Ministry of Public Security proposed to the General Department of Vietnam Customs to provide initial information about this case and the purpose of perpetrators smuggling ivory into Vietnam.
