The chart shows the comparision of export turnover between 3 commodity groups of "billion USD" and in the first 15 days of 2017 and 2018. Sketched by T.Bình

According to the latest statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, up to 15/1/2018, the total export turnover of the country reached $US 9.257 billion, increasing by 26.6% over the same period of 2017.

Notably, in the first 15 days of 2018, the country has three commodities groups with export turnover of $US 1 billion or over, increasing by 2 groups over the same period in 2017.

The two new groups that have reached the "billion dollars" are: textile reached nearly $US 1.108 billion, increased by $US 128 million over the same period in 2017; computers, electronic products and components with a value of $US 1.071 billion, increased by $US 236 million.

The last "billion dollar" group is phones and components that are still in leading position with a turnover of $US 2.11 billion, increasing by $US 783 million over the first 15 days of 2017.

Besides that, other key export items of Vietnam such as shoes, sandals; wooden products; seafood; machinery, equipment, etc… all have a positive growth rate compared to the same period in 2017.

Thus, the export results in the first 15 days of 2018 are flourishing compared to last year. In particular, the growth rate in recent days is an overwhelming signal at nearly 26.6%, while the export growth of 2017 is only 21.2%.

The export growth rate of the first days of the year is also much higher than the target approved by the National Assembly for 2018 (the target approved by the National Assembly is an export growth of 7% to 8%).
