Importing more than 1,000 Chinese cars in one month

The volume of imported cars in November was 12,237 units, the total turnover reached $273 million.
In November, CBU cars of all kinds registered for implementing import procedures to Vietnam mainly originated from three main markets, namely Thailand with 5,927 units, Indonesia with 3,823 units and China with 1,204 units.
The cars imported from these three markets accounted for 90% of the total number of cars imported into Vietnam in the month.
In terms of categories, 8,441 units of cars with nine seats or less implemented import procedures with a value of nearly $161 million, accounting for 69% of the amount of CBU cars of all kinds. The number of vehicles registered for import declaration is mainly in HCM City with 4,765 units and Hai Phong with 3,642 units.
CBU car with nine seats or less originated from Thailand is 3,852 units and Indonesia is 3,754 units.
Trucks had 2,585 units, with a value of $61.4 million, are the second most imported cars. There were 2,063 cars originating from Thailand.
Special purpose car had 1,199 units with a declared value of nearly $51 million, increasing by 45.2% in volume and 42.9% in value over the previous month.
In particular, there were 638 units originating from China, an increase of 37% compared to October 2020; 260 units from Mexico, increasing by 15 times and 96 units originating from South Korea, increasing by 19%.
