Import turnover of auto components and spare parts drops over US$1 billion

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), the country spent US$ 325 million in September on importing auto components and spare parts, decreasing by 2.4% month-on-month.
The products mainly are imported from markets such as China at US$78.9 million, Thailand at US$65.1 million, Korea at US$ 62.5 million, Japan at US$35.3 million, India at US$27.8 billion, and Indonesia at US$ 24 million.
The import turnover of auto components and spare parts from the six markets reached US$293.6 million, accounting for 90% of the country's total import turnover in September.
By the end of September, the import turnover of auto components and spare parts dropped 31.9% to US$ 2.93 billion year-on-year.
Regarding imported CBU car, the whole country imported 94,177 cars in the first nine months with the turnover of US$2.21 billion, down 17.8% in volume and 15.7% in value compared with the previous year. The volume of cars with nine 9 or less fell 18.2% to 75,384 cars, and of transport cars decreases 11.9% to 12,202 cars.
Regarding the market, Thailand remains the Vietnam’s largest automobile exporter with 42,366 cars and a turnover of US$882.74 million. Indonesia exported 34,933 cars to the country with the turnover of US$482.8 million. China exported 7,712 cars to the country with the turnover of US$297 million.
The three largest markets in Asia alone exported 85,011 cars to Viet Nam market, accounting for 90.3% of the country's total imported CBU cars at the same period.
