According to the General Department of Vietnam, Vietnam’s total import turnover in the first half of July rose 5.7% to US$ 13.38 billion compared with the second half in 2023.

The increase in import turnover is mainly from commodity groups increased such as computers, electronic products and components up US$599 million or 19.3%; animal feed up US$153 million, machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts up US$ 96 million, or 5.9%...

However, as of July 15, the data of the General Department of Vietnam Customs showed that the total trade in goods of the whole country still plunged compared to the same period last year.

At the end of July 15, the total import turnover dropped 18.4% to US$165.2 billion compared with the previous year.

Notably, the import turnover of major products fell billions of US$ such as mobile phones and components down US$7.3 billion or 65.4%; computers, electronic products and components down US$4.98 billion or 10.6%; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts down US$3.45 billion or 14%.

The import turnover of three commodity groups accounted for 42.3% of the total declined trade in goods of the country
