There are only a few days left until the tax finalisation season of 2019 will begin, so far, what has Hanoi Taxation Department prepared to serve people and businesses?

To provide maximum support for taxpayers to perform tax finalisation in accordance with regulations, every year, the Hanoi Taxation Department holds a series of "Month of accompanying taxpayers to conduct tax finalisation" at the Bureau Office and all 27 tax departments with lots of practical and effective activities. In 2020, the Hanoi Taxation Department will organise a companion month from March 1 to March 30.

The department also prepares facilities, equipment, computers, printers, arranges answers, guides and records, ensuring no congestion at the single window of tax authorities during the peak period.

The unit has also built up problems related to personal income tax and corporate income tax finalisation; how to determine assessable income, reduce family circumstances, etc. At the same time, build lecture videos and propaganda clips; publicise the system of telephone numbers for strengthening support at functional offices, inspection bureaus and tax offices posted on the website of Hanoi Taxation Department at http://hanoi.gdt.gov. vn (Category of Tax Finalisation Guidelines).

Like every year, the Hanoi Taxation Department has opened electronic mailboxes to assist taxpayers in making tax finalisation, to assist in reviewing and guiding taxpayers in the process of declaration and implementation of tax finalisation procedures.

To facilitate the tax finalisation of taxpayers, how does the Hanoi Taxation Department guide taxpayers to avoid unnecessary errors?

The Hanoi Taxation Department issued Official Letter No. 6043/CT-TTHT dated 18 February, 2020 guiding the finalisation of personal income tax in 2019 and granting dependent tax codes to taxpayers in the locality.

The unit also provides timely and complete content about policies and tax situations to post online in the form of articles, lecture slides, videos, clips. It is also building a section "Instructions on tax settlement" on the website: http://hanoi.gdt.gov.vn

In addition, the Department of Taxation will support policy, profile declaration, tax software, perform receipt at the taxpayers' office with many personal income tax finalisation records. Directly support taxpayers via email, in collaboration with tax agents to support taxpayers.

Another new point is that this year, the Department of Taxation has piloted allowing taxpayers to schedule tax finalisation procedures with tax authorities via the internet. Accordingly, the taxpayer simply installs the application on their phone and makes an appointment with the tax office.

A special feature of this year is that the tax finalisation season falls into the time when the Covid-19 epidemic evolves quite complicatedly, does this affect the receipt of the tax finalisation dossiers?

The companion month of this year is at the right time to be affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. The Hanoi Taxation Department has determined it must provide effective support to taxpayers and ensure prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic.

In addition to fully complying with recommendations of the Ministry of Health in the prevention of epidemics for civil servants, at the divisions serving taxpayers, the department is equipped with disinfectant hand sanitiser, medical masks and notices of precautions to be taken by taxpayers and officials. On the website http://hanoi.gdt.gov.vn, the Hanoi Taxation Department also informs about the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic when taxpayers deal with tax authorities.

In addition, to prevent the spread of disease, the Hanoi Department of Taxation has provided information on tax websites, newspapers and radio stations about encouraging taxpayers to submit paper documents to limit crowds. At the same time, instead of organising training courses on personal income tax finalisation, free corporate income tax for businesses, taxpayers in need in the area, the Hanoi Taxation Department has applied electronic methods for online video lectures that guide taxpayers with notes when making tax settlements.
