Opening the conference, Deputy Director of Hanoi Tax Department Vien Viet Hung stated that over the past time, the Taxation in general and Hanoi Tax Department, in particular, has actively deployed tax administrative reform and enhanced the service quality to facilitate taxpayers to abide by tax policies.

Especially, from the beginning of 2017, the Ministry of Finance has piloted the e-tax refund service at Hanoi Tax Department and Ho Chi Minh Tax Department with the aim of striving to reach 100% of enterprises in the field of exports and investment subject to VAT refund registering to use the e-tax refund service. From the pilot to now, Hanoi has implemented the e-tax refund service for 102 enterprises in the city.

To reduce costs and times for enterprises in the implementation of tax policies in particular and administrative procedures in general and to create a fairer and opener business environment, Hanoi Tax Department has been deploying a e-tax refund project to ensure enterprises in the field of exports or investment subject to tax refund to implement the tax refund procedures quickly and easily. E-tax refund is identified as a public service at level 4 which is a tax refund form that taxpayers must send tax refund dossiers and receive feedback and refunded amount via electronic system without presenting at the tax offices In order to help enterprises to make the best use of utilities of e-tax refund, ensure accuracy and timeliness of tax refund dossiers and supplement capital for enterprise’s business and production, at the conference, enterprises listened to introduction of leaders of competent divisions in Hanoi Tax Department about e-tax refund process and IT applications on e-tax refund. Particularly, representatives of enterprises also shared problems in the application of e-tax refund over the past time. The conference also spent time discussing and removing obstacles in an e-tax refund.

The implementation of the e-tax refund will help enterprises not need to come to tax offices to present the tax refund dossiers. Taxpayers only send the dossiers, monitor the process of tax refund via email and exchange necessary information via email. Taxpayers can check the time of dossier submission and the time of receiving the refunded amount as described.
