General Department of Taxation provides training course on digital transformation

At the opening of the training course, Deputy Director of Reform and Modernization Board Hoang Thi Lan Anh said that digital transformation is the use of data and digital technology to reform working method aiming to improve management efficiency and labor productivity and satisfaction of people and businesses, and create a competitive advantage in the market.
Implementing the Government's "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025 with orientation to 2030" and the Ministry of Finance's "Digital Transformation Plan to 2025 and orientation to 2030", the Tax sector has implemented plans and projects in each area perfecting policy mechanisms; promulgating a system of standards and technical regulations on electronic invoices in accordance with practice and digital transformation plans of the Government and the Ministry of Finance.
To achieve effectiveness and target, the General Department of Taxation recognizes that, first of all, officers in charge of consulting and building policy institutions, need to understand and master the knowledge of digital transformation to advise, make plans and implement the digital transformation in the Tax sector.
“Digital transformation must be a process of changing the awareness of officers in the apparatus, and the drastic direction in application of digital transformation, and strengthen the training to effectively use digital tools in handling internal work and providing digital services to people and businesses...”, said Ms. Hoang Thi Lan Anh.
According to Director of the Information Technology Department Pham Quang Toan, the Tax sector has performed tasks and projects in each field such as perfecting policy mechanisms; building and issuing the standards and technical regulations on electronic invoices in accordance with international practices and standards; review and improve financial policies and tax administration for cross-border services in line with economic development trends.
The Tax sector has built and launched an electronic invoice system. In developing digital applications, the sector has completed, standardized, and integrated online public services at levels 3 and 4; built and implemented data analysis and risk management application systems; developed a national electronic invoice platform linked with all tax authorities.
At the training course, the Director of the Information Technology Department shared and provided basic knowledge to tax officers under the General Department of Taxation such as challenges in digital transformation; revision in legal regulations (institutions); building modern digital infrastructure; digital human resources; ensuring network safety and security; dependence on cross-border digital platforms; new business models and challenges in green digital transformation.
