Exports in 2024 expects to reach US$370 billion

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), the country’s exports in the first half of May decreases by 8% to US$ 14.64 billion compared to the second half of April.

However, as of May 15, exports still see positive growth.

By the end of May 15, Vietnam's total export turnover increases 16.1% to US$ 138.59 billion year-on-year.

The export turnover of some commodities surges such as computers, electronic products and components up 34.3% or US$6.16 billion; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts up 12.8% or US$1.87 billion; Phones of all types and components up 7.9% or US$1.45 billion; cameras, camcorders and components up 64.6% or US$1.27 billion.

On average in the first 4.5 months of the year, the country's exports reached an average of US$30.8 billion/month.

If this level is maintained throughout 2024, the country's exports may hit about US4370 billion (second highest in history).

As usual, export activities in the last months of the year often increase higher than the beginning of the year, so the figure is completely feasible.
