Export turnover increases over 14.9%

According to the newly released information from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the total export value of Vietnam in the second half of May (from 16/5 to 31/5) reached US$17.56 billion, rising by 20.2% (equivalent to an increase of US$ 2.95 billion) compared to the first half of May.

The export value witnessed a fluctuation in some important commodity groups as follows:

Phones and components of all kinds increased by US$710 million (equivalent to a growth of 39.9%); Machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts rose by US$558 million (equivalent to an increase of 31.2%); Computers, electronic products, and components grew by US$327 million (comparable to a rise of 12.6%); Steel of all kinds increased by US$262 million (equivalent to a growth of 98%)...

In addition, the statistical data of the Customs authority also recorded the export value of some commodity groups decreased sharply in the second half of May compared to the previous period as follows:

Crude oil decreased by US$37 million (equivalent to a reduction of 33.1%); Chemical products reduced by US$27.3 million (comparable to a decline of 22.9%); Coffee dropped by US$18.1 million (equivalent to a decrease of 10.3%)...

Thus, by the end of May, the total export value of Vietnam reached US$156.28 billion, up 14.9% compared to the same period last year (equivalent to an increase of US$20.23 billion).

Statistics also show that the export value of goods of enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI) in the second half of May reached US$12.66 billion, up 22% (equivalent to an increase of US$ 2.28 billion) compared to the first half of May.

By the end of May, the total export value of FDI enterprises reached US$111.93 billion, rising by 13.1% (equivalent to an increase of US$12.95 billion) compared to the same period last year, accounting for 71.6% of the total export value of the whole country.
