Sugar output fell 180,500 tons

Thus, this was the 2nd consecutive year that domestic sugar output declined. Many factories and companies proactively built a consumption and customer care network system to contribute to the sugar consumption and stabilize the domestic market.

In the 2016-2017 crop year, the world sugar output is forecast to remain at a high level of deficit of around 6.2 million tons, decreasing compared to the estimated figure of 7 million tons in August, 2016. The sugar inventories has also been at the lowest level since the 2010-2011 crop year, while the world sugar consumption is expected to be significantly higher than production.

In the domestic market, according to the production plan in the 2016-2017 crop year, squeezed sugarcane volume is over 15 million tons, sugar output reached nearly 1.5 million tons, of which refined sugar accounts for about 50%, higher than the 2015-2016 crop year.
