Decrease in import – export declarations at Hai Phong Customs

According to the latest information from Hai Phong Customs Department, in May, the total number of declarations of the whole department was 132,269, of that the import declarations totaled 74,073, the export declarations were 58,196.

Notably, the number of import – export declarations in May at Hai Phong Customs decreased sharply by 18.13% over the same period in 2019, reducing by 3.32% compared to the previous month (April 2020). It showed that the import – export activities through this important area are still facing many difficulties.

Among nine customs branches under Hai Phong Customs Department, the branch with the largest amount of declarations is Export Processing Zone and Industrial Park Customs Branch with 30,088 declarations; the unit with the smallest amount of declarations is Hai Phong port area 2 Customs Branch with 3,111 declarations.

In terms of declaration classification, in May, the green channel is 50.5%, the yellow channel was 44.7% and the red channel was 3.7%.

However, only four port customs branches (Customs Branch of Hai Phong port area 1,2,3 and Dinh Vu Port), the number of declaration in yellow channel and red channel accounted for a large proportion of 84% (equivalent to 20,482 declarations), of that, yellow channel was 72.9% and red channel was 11%.
