With cross-border e-commerce booming worldwide, Amazon Global Selling has been working with government agencies and partnersto help many Vietnamese micros, small and medium enterprises and brand owners seize this opportunity.

The export plays a vital role in the Vietnamese economy. With cross-border e-commerce booming worldwide, Amazon Global Selling has been working with government agencies and industry partners to help many Vietnamese micros, small and medium enterprises and brand owners seize this opportunity.

The cross-border e-commerce conference consists of a series of events with the latest information on the e-commerce industry, connecting 14 service providers from many different fields and sharing successful Amazon sellers from countries in the region such as Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.

This is the first time Amazon Global Selling has organized a large-scale, influential and interactive conference with representatives from government agencies and leaders of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam,with more than 1,500 guests attending.

Attendees of the event had the opportunity to update information on opportunities and trends in the cross-border e-commerce industry and assess the readiness of Vietnamese enterprises to join. The event also reviewed the Government and Amazon Global Selling initiatives and plans to accompany and support Vietnamese enterprises to achieve sustainable development, paving the way for Vietnamese brands to access international markets.

Ms Lai Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam E-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA), said: "Cross-border e-commerce is a booming trend in many countries worldwide. In Vietnam, with a retail e-commerce growth rate of over 20% per year, this new sector is assessed to have great potential and is in line with the Government's policy of developing the digital economy. iDEA has been diversifying its programs to accelerate digital transformation, perfecting export policies online, understanding barriers faced by MSMEs, and providing educational resources and training programs to help Vietnamese enterprises expand their business internationally and achieve success on a global scale.

Cross-border e-commerce: An important commodity export channel
The conference was organized to connect 14 service providers in the cross-border e-commerce sector to bring solutions to support Vietnamese enterprises promoting exports through e-commerce.

According to Mr Gijae Seong, Managing Director of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam,the export value of Vietnamese enterprises selling on Amazon had increased by 45% in 2022. Many Vietnamese enterpriseswere ready to export online but did not know where to start and how to expand their scale. Therefore, we strived to cooperate with Government agencies and service providers to encourage and support online export enterprises. Amazon Global Selling was committed to contributing to the growth of enterprises.

According to a report byAccess Partnership, Vietnam's micro, small and medium-sized enterprises still faceseveral challenges inexporting e-commerce with four main issues: knowledge, capacity, regulations, and costs. Therefore, Amazon Global Selling Vietnam searched and connected 14 service providers from important service categories such as account management, logistics, brand registration, payment, advertising, product selection and sales training.

According to the latest study by Access Partnership, Vietnam's e-commerce export revenue could reach VND296.3 trillion by 2027 if domestic enterpriseswere supported fully and accelerated e-commerce speed to export products and services. Research conducted by surveying 300 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Vietnam showed that 86% of surveyed enterprises thought that they would be able to carry out export activities without e-commerce. Besides, local MSMEs also aimed to expand the market to other countries such as the US, Japan and many European countries within the next 5 years.
