At the meeting, the Director General of Vietnam Customs, Mr. Nguyen Van Can highly appreciated the support of the WCO through development projects between Vietnam Customs and Customs of developed countries.

The Director General of Vietnam Customs expects that in the coming time, Vietnam Customs will continue to receive support from the WCO in accordance with the objectives and direction of Vietnam Customs while creating favourable conditions for commercial activities and public security.
In particular, Vietnam Customs expects to receive technical supports, intensive training and experience on the fight against smuggling, especially prohibited goods, goods related to the national security and public security. Specifically, Vietnam Customs will exchange information with relevant State agencies such as the naval force and the banking sector; share intelligence information among Customs member countries to fight against transnational crime, contributing to trade facilitation.
Vietnam Customs needs the WCO's support in training to improve its management capacity, especially risk management and intelligence gathering. In addition, the WCO will continue to call donors for technical controls to ensure aviation security.
