China is the largest export market of HCM City

According to the Department of Statistic Office of HCM City, in the first 6 months of 2019, the export turnover of enterprises in the city reached US$19,619.3 million, increasing by 9.2 percent over the same period last year. In particular, the export turnover reached US$18,453.8 million (excluding cruel oil), increasing by 10.1 percent over the same period last year.
If only counting exported goods of enterprises via HCM City’s ports (including cruel oil) in the first six months of 2019, it hit US$18,027.6 million, increasing by 10.1 percent over the same period last year.
Among export markets, China is ranked first with export turnover reaching US$3,561.2 million (accounting for 19.8 percent of export proportion), an increase of 14.5 percent over the same period in 2018. Next is US with the export turnover reaching US$3,100.2 million (accounting for 17.2 percent), an increase of 13.4 percent over the same period. Exporting to Japan reached US$1,562.4 million (accounting by 8.7 percent), a decrease of 1.5 percent over the same period in 2018.
The total import turnover also hit US$20,460.8 million, an increase of 4.2 percent over the same period last year.
For the structure of imported goods, group of natural resources achieved US$8,002.1 million (accounting for 40.1 percent), decreasing by 7.1 percent compared to the same period in 2018; group of machinery, equipment and spare parts reached US$9,349.2 million (accounting for 44.9 percent), increasing by 13.2 percent over the same period; group of consumer goods reached US$1,227.0 million, increasing by 27.2 percent over the same period.
