Hai Phong Customs processes more than 1,500 declarations during 2025 Lunar New Year holiday

According to Hai Phong Customs Department, during the Tet holiday, the department ensured a joyful, healthy, and safe Tet holiday, strictly complied with legal regulations on traffic safety and preventing and combating social evils.

In particular, units arranged civil servants to be on duty during the Tet holiday, promptly handling and resolving work and arising situations with a serious and diligent spirit.

Specifically, Hai Phong Customs Department processed 1,547 import-export declarations, with a turnover of US$150.9 million, of which 1,196 declarations were cleared, and the collected tax amount was VND31.1 billion.

Hai Phong Customs supervised 154 ships, including 75 entry ships and 79 exit ships, and 3,600 crew members; carried out immigration procedures for 22 incoming and outgoing aircrafts at Cat Bi International Airport.

Regarding the implementation of tasks in 2025, Director of Hai Phong Customs Department Tran Manh Cuong requested all civil servants and employees to strive, unite and successfully carry out assigned tasks; build a new apparatus of Hai Phong Customs that is "streamlined, efficient and effective ", contributing to the common development of the sector, the locality and the whole country.

Previously, in 2024, the total import and export turnover of goods processed in the whole department reached more than US$132 billion, an increase of 18.8% compared to 2023.

Of which, exports reached nearly US$67 billion, an increase of 18.6%, taxable export turnover reached US$402.93 million; imports reached over US$65 billion, up 18.9%, taxable imports alone reached US$24.86 billion.

Notable import groups include: automobiles of all kinds reaching US$1.22 billion, up 31%; auto components and spare parts reaching US$478.84 million, up 28.1%; motorcycle components and spare parts reaching US$22.83 million, up 6.8%; iron and steel reaching nearly US$4.37 billion, up 24.2%...
