The number of means of transport shipping imports and exports across Tan Thanh Border Gate during the holiday on September 2 rose.
On September 5, about 700 vehicles were cleared, including 239 vehicles transporting exports and 457 vehicles transporting imports.
Between August 25 to 31, the volume of vehicles transporting goods from inland to the border gate surged compared with the beginning of August. The total trade in goods increased by 40.6% to US$66.93 million compared with the previous week. In August, the total import and export turnover across the local border gates hit US$1,878.41 million, said the Management Board.
In order to improve the clearance capacity across Huu Nghi and Tan Thanh border gates, the Management Board has coordinated with Customs, Border Gate and relevant agencies to create the most favorable conditions for importers and exporters.
For agricultural products and fresh fruits, law enforcement units at the border gates have classified a separate channel and listed exports into a Green channel to shorten customs clearance time.
Speaking to Customs News, Deputy Director of Lang Son Customs Department Nguyen Huu Vuong said the local customs department has facilitated clearance for all goods exported across the border gates, and given priority for fast customs clearance for agricultural products.
Currently, three customs branches at three border gates have implemented the solution “3-1”. Three vehicles transporting are cleared first and then cleared for one vehicle transporting other items.
The department’s leader directed border gate customs branches to facilitate and support enterprises in customs clearance. In addition, the branches have arranged officers to work all days off and holidays, and perform 24/24 hours, especially on the holiday on September 2, said Mr. Nguyen Huu Vuong.
