88 enterprises receive 2016 Vietnam Value awards.

A number of enterprises claimed the National brand has increased each season.

On the afternoon of 23rd November 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held an Announcement ceremony for enterprises having products which achieved 2016 Vietnam Value.

The National Branding Program is organized to promote the country’s image and brand through well-branded products. On the basis of promoting these values, the enterprise will become the leading enterprise in its business and manufuring field based on unstoppable innovation, creation and product quality improvement.

Every second year, the program holds a Ceremony to announce the enterprises whose products meet the criteria of Vietnam Value.

The program was held for the first time in 2008 with 30 enterprises selected. The number of enterprises claiming Vietnam Value has increased each season, specifically, there were 43 enterprises, 54 enterprises and 63 enterprises in 2010, 2012 and 2014, respectively.

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Do Kim Lang (the Ministry of Industry and Trade) said, after many austerity qualifications, this year, the organizers has selected 88 enterprises having products to be awarded 2016 Vietnam Value in the total of hundreds of files submitted to the program.

Among the 88 enterprises which received Vietnam Value awards, 78 enterprises hit profits of more than 1 trillion vnd, and 26 enterprises achieved profits of over 5 trillion vnd.

There are 5-time Vietnam Value awardees, such as Viettien Garment Corperation, Sabeco, Hoa Binh Corporation, Vinacafe, Vietcombank, An Phuoc Garment – Embroidery – Shoes, VNPT, SJC, Binh Minh Plastics, etc.

Notably, among the enterprises which received 2016 Vietnam Value awards, Tan Hiep Phap Group which related to the fresh fly-in-bottle scandal also was named in the list. Explaining about this case, Mr. Do Kim Lang admitted, Tan Hiep Phat Group has many “scandals” in media, however, through police investigations, the problems of Tan Hiep Phat were solved completely.

Besides, the Secretariat has made a further qualification on the case of Tan Hoa Phat Group. Basically, on the basis of inquiries having been adequately addressed, the council considered the case closed.

In addition, Deputy Ministry of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said: “The National Branding enterprise does not mean all of its products must achieve the national brand, not all of Tan Hiep Phat Group’s products, but only Dr. Thanh Herbal Tea and Zero Degrees Lemon Green Tea. We have the written quality assurance of the Food Safety Department under the Ministry of Health”.

The 5th announcement ceremony of enterprises qualified for Vietnam Value will be held at 19:30 on 30th November 2016, in the Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace (91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) and broadcast live on the VTV2 channel of Vietnam Television and SCTV channel.
