Vietnam regards Mongolia as important partner

PM Phuc urged the two countries to intensify high-level visits and exchanges as well as further expand ties in diplomacy, national defence and security.

The Vietnamese government leader asked Mongolia to support Vietnam and ASEAN’s stance on maintaining peace, stability, and maritime and overflight security and safety in the East Sea, respecting diplomatic and legal processes, and solving disputes by peaceful means on the basis of respect for international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Minister Orgil in turn said Mongolia sticks special importance to developing ties with Asian-Pacific countries, including Vietnam and praised Vietnam’s hosting of APEC Year 2017, adding that he believes the event will be a success.

Regarding the outcomes of his talks with Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, he said the two sides pledged to boost wide-ranging ties, and inter-governmental committees are working to further improve the efficiency of their partnership.

He assured his nation's readiness to coordinate with Vietnam in fields of its strength such as apparel, leather and footwear, saying the country wants Vietnam to share its experience and boost links across culture, education and arts.

The guest also suggested both sides should strengthen people-to-people exchange to foster traditional friendship between the two peoples.
