According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs on September 14, last August, the whole country imported 10,179 CBU cars of all kinds, with a turnover of US$222.4 million. In comparison to July of 2021, the number of imported cars in August decreased by 29.3%, while the turnover decreased by 23.5%.
Notably, in the first 15 days of August, the number of imported CBU cars reached just over 4,000 units, but then increased sharply to more than 6,000 units in the second half of August.
In the second half of August, there were 4,534 under–9–seat cars imported with a turnover of US$73.4 million and 1,308 trucks imported with a turnover of approximately US$30 million.
Generally, in the past eight months, the whole country imported 105,702 CBU cars of all kinds, with a turnover of US$2.35 billion, up by 95.6% in volume and 91.3% in turnover over the same period of 2020.
Of which, there were 72,355 under–9–seat cars, worth US$1.3 billion; and 24,049 trucks with a turnover of US$585.6 million.
