Tax sector targets increasing by 7.9% of estimate

The General Director of Taxation also directed the provincial and municipal Tax Departments to assign desired targets in March 2019 to their subordinate and attached units.The Tax sector is striving to achieve a state budget revenue of VND 1,260,000 billion, an increase of 7.9% compared to estimate and 9.9% compared to 2018.
In 2018, the Tax sector collected VND 1,146,933 billion, 7.2% higher than the estimate assigned by the National Assembly and an increase of 12.3% compared to 2017.
At the Conference on summarizing task performance in 2018 held by the General Department of Taxation, the Director General said that the Tax sector will strive to exceed 5% of the assigned target.
In order to achieve this target, the General Department of Taxationcontinues to strengthen measures to prevent Tax loss and focuses on expanding e-invoice; inspects at least 19% of enterprises, and promptly recovers tax debts.
The department must also promote reform of the tax system; strengthen discipline, enhance responsibilities of tax officers; prevent the non-compliance of subordinated units with requirements of senior level,and implement anti-corruption, practice thrift andcombat waste.
