The tax sector conducted 795 inspections, reaching 0.99% of the 2023 target and exceeding 59.6% year-on-year. In addition, the tax sector inspected 1,196 tax declarations, exceeding 34.8% from the same period last year, according to the latest report by the General Department of Taxation.
Accordingly, the tax sector proposed handling VND1,213 billion from the inspections, remitting to the State budget VND692 billion.
Regarding tax debt management, the revenue from tax debts collection in January 2023 is estimated at VND1,500 billion, including VND1,350 billion by the management measures and VND150 billion by coercive measures
The total amount of tax debts as of January 31, 2023, is estimated at VND141,901 billion, rising 5.1% month-on-month, rising 28.4% year-on-year. The recoverable debts are estimated at VND76,713 billion, up 15.4% month-on-month and 40.7% year-on-year.

In the foreseeable future, the General Department of Taxation will follow and evaluate the domestic and global economic developments, analyze and assess the impacts of fiscal policies on business and production activities of domestic enterprises to identify risks and advise the Ministry of Finance and the Government to develop scenarios and solution to actively manage budget collection in February and Quarter 1 of 2023.
