Among the invoices, those with tax codes accounted for VND 2.4 billion, non-tax invoices for VND 6.4 billion, and real-time invoices and those generated from POS systems accounted for VND 800 million.

Regarding the implementation of e-invoices generated from POS systems, the General Department of Taxation reported that in the first eight months of this year, 40,867 businesses had registered to use this type of invoice, reaching 85.8% of the 2024 target with 684 million invoices issued.

Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh, Director General of the General Department of Taxation, said that to date, the implementation of e-invoices generated from POS systems has reached 85% of the target set out in the Official Dispatch of the Minister of Finance to the People's Committees of provinces and cities. However, in the implementation of Article 14 of the Law on Value Added Tax on the invoice and voucher regime, the reality shows that the implementation of e-invoices in traditional households and individual businesses, especially in the e-commerce environment, is still "loose at the output and tight at the input", while if only the tax authority can't do it alone.

Therefore, the leaders of the General Department of Taxation emphasized that, in addition to continuing to promote information dissemination, advocacy, and requesting organizations and law enforcement units to participate, the entire political system needs to get involved so that the implementation of e-invoices gradually becomes a norm.
