Be careful

According to the Minister of Planning and Investment, in 2021, to continue implementing "dual goals" needs some focus. Accordingly, the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic is still the top priority, becoming the most important condition for implementing socio-economic solutions and policies and the state budget.

Reopening the economy and allowing trade with the world still needs to be considered and taken with caution.

However, Vietnam still takes advantage of opportunities, accelerates the restructuring of the economy, innovates the growth model based on science and technology, innovation, as well as three strategic breakthroughs to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, autonomy and competitiveness of the economy.

In particular, it is necessary to speed up the restructuring of sectors and fields in the direction of creating more added value in products, improving productivity, quality and competitiveness of products and businesses.

Accelerate the progress of major industrial projects with spillover effects; restructure the agricultural sector towards high efficiency, adapt to climate change, increase value per unit, suitable for each region, develop large-scale production according to market demand.

Golden opportunity in the next 10 years

In 2021, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung urgently proposed to set up a project to build international financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Focus on quickly completing the legal framework in combination with the deployment of new types of economy, digital economy and provision of public services, comprehensively implementing the digital transformation program for Vietnamese enterprises. At the same time, to develop a national innovation system, to build and put into operation a national innovation center, especially in the three major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

According to Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, there are currently four provinces and cities that have been overdue for a long time but have not yet submitted them for approval for planning tasks, namely Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Duong and Lam Dong. The Prime Minister has extended it until the end of August, but so far, the localities have not approved.

“I suggest concerned localities, the completion of plans to facilitate the deployment of solutions to mobilize resources to implement regional key programs and projects, promote intra-regional links, international integration, increasingly promoting the role of key cities. Especially from 2021, it is necessary to focus resources on projects on the North-South expressway, Long Thanh international airport, coastal routes, traffic routes connecting seaports, airports, roads. highways, infrastructure of industrial parks, coastal economic zones," Minister Nguyen Chi Dung suggested.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution, new generation FTAs, golden population structure, international investment shift are a golden opportunity for Vietnam's 10-year goals.

Therefore, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that it is necessary to continue speeding up the restructuring of the economy, restructuring branches and fields in the direction of stronger application of science and technology, and promoting innovation. Create, start a business, develop new economic models, economic sharing, night economy, digital economy, bring higher efficiency, higher productivity and increase product value, which is the part that promotes rapid and sustainable development.
