Accordingly, with the current coronavirus, face masks and sterilized water are running out. Thus, at the meeting Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said the Prime Minister decided to exempt tax on raw materials for medical mask production, medical masks and sterilized water for epidemic prevention.
Regarding this issue, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai said that this direction was performed in an emergency situation–"Fighting against epidemics is like fighting against the enemy."
On February 4, the Ministry of Finance reported to the Prime Minister. At the meeting on February 5, the Government assigned the Ministry of Finance to work with other ministries to make a plan to exempt import tax on raw materials for medical mask production, medical masks and sterilized water for epidemic prevention.
The Deputy Minister of Finance said that the Ministry worked with units of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to provide specific commodity codes for customs clearance. On February 6, the Ministry of Finance will consult the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Justice to submit the plan to the Prime Minister for approval.
