Seafood export enterprises joined EAEU will be inspected

VCN - It is expected that in December, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (FSVPS) will send a group of delegates to Vietnam in order to inspect the Vietnam seafood processing enterprises that have demand to export products to the EAEU.

According to the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, recently, Nafiqad has received document FS-KS-7/24918 from FSVPS about sending a group of delegates to Vietnam in December to inspect Vietnam seafood processing enterprises needs to export products to the EAEU.

For the work of preparation for the inspection, FSVPS requested the Vietnamese side to provide information of enterprises which registered to export the EAEU.

Following the request of the FSVPS, Nafiqad requested the registered companies to finalize the information related to their business, and send the English version to Nafiqad by email address vuhue.nafi@mard.gov. vn before 22/11 to timely collect and reply to FSVPS.

As known that, at present, there are 101 seafood exporters registered in the EAEU, with main items such as frozen shrimp, frozen shutchi catfish, frozen yellowtail fish and frozen tilapia, seafood in general...

Previously, talking with a reporter of Customs News, some companies have demand for exporting seafood to the market in EAEU said that the open opportunities are very optimistic, especially after the Free Trade Agreement of Vietnam – EAEU is valid, seafood export duty has been reduced immediately to 0% from the rate of 5.63%.

However, the difficulties of many companies are derived from the very specific problems. Typically, enterprises want to export dried fish products to the market of EAEU (including Russia) are having trouble because Russia does not agree with certification of Vietnam competent authorities. The enterprises must meet the specific regulations of the market. This is what small and medium enterprises could not do. Similarly, when exporting shutchi catfish, Russia also limits the list of companies allowed to export as well as the expansion of this list is not simple...
