President Tran Dai Quang and other high-ranking Vietnamese government officials arrived in Minsk on June 26 afternoon, beginning a three-day official visit to Belarus at the invitation of President Alexander Lukashenko.

Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko welcomed President Quang at the airport.

Two young Belarusian ladies dressed in traditional costumes waited at the air stairs offering bread and salt to President Quang and his wife in a traditional welcoming ceremony to show the respect and hospitality of Belarusians for the distinguished guests.

Immediately after his arrival in Minsk, the President met representatives of the Belarus-Vietnam Friendship Association and Belarusian war veterans who joined Vietnam in its patriotic war.

President Quang expressed his gratitude to Belarusian war veterans who, together with other military specialists from the former Soviet Union, had helped Vietnam in its war for independence and freedom.
