According to the General Department of Customs, in the first 15 days of March, total export turnover of phones reached 2.681 billion USD.

Notably, compared to the second half of February, exports in the first period of March increased by 363 million USD, an increase of 15.7%.

Until March 15, total export turnover of phones and components reached 9.43 billion USD, a fifth of total export turnover of the whole country.

Although it is still the largest group of export products in the whole country, unlike most key product groups with positive growth, phone and spare parts turnover has dropped compared to the same period in 2018.

Accumulated to March 15 2018, export turnover of phones and components reached 10.04 billion USD.

Compared to the previous year, the turnover of the phones and components group is negative 610 million USD.

The decline in the number of phones and components comes mainly from major markets of the European Union (EU).

In which, the largest market is Austria with turnover of only 415 million USD while the same period last year was 697 million USD.

Other notable markets such as the UK reached 254 million USD, the same period in 2018 reached 301 million USD; Germany reached 265 million, the previous period 290 million; while the Netherlands achieved 172 million USD, down from 218 million USD.

According to the General Department of Customs, exports of mobile phones and components to the EU in the first two months of the year only reached 1.84 billion USD, down 8%.

The most notable growth of mobile phone exports was in the US with a value of 1.4 billion USD, up 3.3 times compared to the same period last year, making it the largest export market of this item.
