The time for tax finalization in 2021 is approaching, while the pandemic is still extremely complex. In order to both ensure pandemic prevention and promote dissemination to support taxpayers, Hanoi Tax Department has planned to promote support online. In particular, the Department will strive to reach 90% of the number of individual tax finalization dossiers sent to tax authorities online.

When registering and using an electronic transaction account, individual taxpayers will enjoy many benefits as follows:

First, it is possible to declare and submit personal income tax finalization documents electronically without having to submit a paper copy to the tax office.

Second, it saves time and money.

Third, it is possible to conduct electronic transactions with the tax office anytime, anywhere.

Fourth, you can both take the initiative in personal work and participate in electronic transactions with the tax agency without having to wait.

Fifth, avoid gathering in public places in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

According to the Hanoi Tax Department, in cases where individuals have been granted an electronic transaction account, the taxpayer will use the granted account to perform the electronic tax services provided on the Etax system.

For individuals who have not been granted an electronic tax transaction account, they can go to any tax office to be granted an account as prescribed.

Hanoi Tax Department informed taxpayers about the deadline for declaring and submitting personal income tax finalization dossiers for individuals who directly finalize tax, no later than the last day of the 4th month from the end of the calendar year. In case the deadline for submitting tax finalization dossiers coincides with a holiday, the deadline for submitting tax finalization dossiers is the next working day.

In case an individual has an income tax refund but is late in submitting a tax finalization declaration as prescribed, he/she will not be penalized.

Therefore, individuals who have an overpaid tax amount in the final settlement and have a request for a tax refund should choose the time to declare and submit the tax refund dossier to avoid peak periods in order to receive the best service from the tax authorities.
