Overview of NA leader’s visit to India

The NA chairwoman arrived at Palam Airport, New Dehli on December 8 to begin her official visit to India at the invitation of Indian Upper House Speaker Mohamad Hamid Ansarin and Lower House Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Indian officials welcomed the Vietnamese delegation at the airport.

Children welcomed the NA leader.

Ms Ngan met Vietnamese Embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in India.

On December 9, Ms Ngan and other delegation members laid a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi Monument.

She witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the provision of aviation services for the two countries by Vietjet Air and Air India.

Ms Ngan met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi,

President of the Indian National Congress party Sonia Gandhi,

the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee in West Bengan Geetesh Sharma,

and Communist Party of India General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy

Mr Reddy said the Indian Government follow a consistent policy of boosting cooperation with Vietnam.

The NA chairwoman met representatives from the India Fund in New Delhi on December 10.

Chairwoman Ngan shared her hope that Vietnam and India will expand cooperation in new fields.

She met Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.

Vietnam always supports the Act East Policy and the increase of presence and connection of India in the Southeast Asia, said Ms Ngan.

The Vietnamese delegation left India for UAE to attend the 11th World Summit of Female Parliamentarians.

The 11th World Summit of Female Parliamentarians opened on December 12.

Ms Ngan joined the opening ceremony with 50 other female parliamentarians.

Ms Ngan met Minister of State for Tolerance of the UAE Sheikha Lubna Khalid Al Qasimi.

and Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Maria Lohela on the sidelines of the summit.

The NA leader delivered a speech at a discussion themed “Safeguard a Healthy Planet” at the 11th Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament.
