VCN – According to Nam Can Border Gate Customs Branch (under Nghe An Customs Department), the branch has collaborated with other competent forces to arrest a suspect for illegally transporting 54,800 tablets of Amphetamine and two kilos of Ketamine.

On December 27, at Hung Dung ward, Vinh city, PC04 Department of Nghe An Provincial Police coordinated with Nam Can Border Gate Customs Branch to arrest Do Xuan Hieu, 46, residing in Cua Nam ward, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi for illegally transporting drugs.

The competent forces seized 54,500 tablets of tablets of Amphetamine and two kilos of Ketamine, two mobile phones, one car and one motorbike.

Earlier, Do Xuan Hieu hired a car from Ha Noi and stayed in a hotel in Hung Dung, Vinh City. Hieu hired a motorbike to drive from Nghe An to the Huong Son Border Gate area to take drugs and then transport them to Vinh City.

Infringing goods seized by competent forces.

Do Xuan Hieu was identified as an important link in the transnational drug trafficking and transportation ring that was tackled by the competent forces in November 2021. This ring included foreign and domestic suspects to transport drugs from Laos to the border of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and then transport to the North for consumption.

Currently, the case is under further investigation.
