National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on July 23 assigned relevant agencies to add the issue of COVID-19 prevention and control to the agenda of the first session of the 15th NA.
This content will be included in the first session’s resolution, he told representatives from NA committees, ministries and sectors during a meeting at the NA Hall.
The meeting aims to review and evaluate the organisation of the first session of the 15th NA after the first four working days and prepare other contents of the sitting until the closing ceremony.
Amidst the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in many localities, many NA deputies suggested the legislature show its stance on the implementation of the Politburo's Conclusions and Directives, the Party Central Committee Secretariat's dispatches and accompany the Government in pandemic prevention and control.
The top legislator said that the NA will not issue a separate resolution on pandemic prevention and control, but supplement the content to the first session’s agenda. The Government will prepare a report on the issue, and NA agencies will conduct the verification of the report, which will be submitted to the legislative body for discussion with a view to including this content in the first session’s resolution.
Hue requested that the Government’s report and the verification report of the NA Committee on Social Affairs focus on the settlement of legal problems in the COVID-19 fight so as to facilitate the Government’s administration, even in more complicated circumstances.
The NA leader took the occasion to thank the Ministry of Health and the NA Office for ensuring safety for the ongoing session./.
