NA to examine key national development targets for 2021

The National Assembly convened its year-end session in Hanoi on October 20 to discuss key national important issues, including adopting bills and setting targets for 2021.

Representing the government, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is scheduled to deliver a report on the implementation of socio-economic tasks in 2020 and projected development targets for 2021. NA deputies will spend time giving opinions on the report and vote on key targets for next year.

Lawmakers are expected to adopt seven bills, three draft resolutions, and debate four bills. They will discuss and give opinions on draft political reports to the upcoming 13th National Party Congress, and set the time for next year’s general elections to the National Assembly and local People’s Councils.

Half of the session will be held virtually due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
