MoF, Viettel Group team up for digital transformation in 2021-2025 period

VCN – The Ministry of Finance and the Viettel Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for digital transformation in the 2021-2025 period on November 22 in Hanoi.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Ministers of Finance Tran Xuan Ha, Vu Thi Mai and Ta Anh Tuan and representatives of units under the Ministry of Finance.

Representatives of the Viettel Group attending this ceremony included President and Director General Director of the Viettel Group Le Dang Dung, Deputy Directors Nguyen Dinh Chien, Tao Duct Hang and leaders of Departments, Corporations, Companies and Centers of the Viettel Group.

The cooperation between the two sides is for consultancy, testing, training and transfer of technologies, solutions and IT platforms and digital transformation developed by Viettel Group to improve efficiency of management of financial and budgetary management of the Ministry of Finance towards the digital transformation and five-year IT application plan in the 2021-2025 period of the Ministry of Finance.

The MoU establishes a foundation for cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and Viettel Group on consultancy, testing of information and technology solutions and digital transformation; technology training and transition.

Specifically, Viettel Group will provide consultants to support assessment and propose optimal standardization options for IT systems to improve efficiency in management, operation and ensure information security and safety of IT application systems of the Finance sector.

Viettel Group provides experts, coordinates with the Ministry of Finance to consult, research and test a number of technologies and solutions of digital transformation; research and test new solutions and technologies to improve the quality of internal business applications; study technology solutions and master planning of information technology systems according to the orientation of the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Viettel Group will also cooperate with the Ministry of Finance in training IT staff; building IT human resources, focusing on a number of "core" technologies and solutions of digital transformation such as: cloud computing technology, artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of things; consulting and testing online training solutions (e-Learning) at the Ministry of Finance.

Through the signing of the MoU, the Ministry of Finance will share with Viettel Group strategic orientations for the development of the financial sector, the orientations on reforming operational processes, and the orientation of digital transformation of the Finance sector to work together for the development in the digital transformation period of Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Finance in particular.

Speaking at the Signing Ceremony, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phuc expressed his gratitude to Viettel Group for its active coordination and support over many years in deploying information technology services and software solutions for the Financial sector.

The Ministry of Finance hopes that Viettel Group with its strengths will continue to accompany and support the Ministry of Finance in researching and consulting on technology solutions and digital transformation in operations of the ministry.

The signing ceremony of MoU on digital transformation between the Ministry of Finance and Viettel Group is part of a series of activities of the Ministry of Finance to consult with leading technology corporations and experts in planning and building a roadmap for digital transformation of the finance sector in the future.
