Ministry of Finance tops the Vietnam ICT Index

According to the ranking results of ministries, ministerial-level agencies and Government’s agencies providing public services, the Ministry of Finance continues to be ranked first (this is the 6th consecutive year that the Ministry of Finance ranks No.1), followed by Vietnam Social Insurance at second and the State Bank of Vietnam at third.
At the bottom of the ranking, the Ministry of Transport is ranked 17th, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is ranked 18th and the the Government Inspectorate is ranked 19th.
According to the ranking under sector, from the fourth rank in 2017, currently the Ministry of Finance has risen to the first rank on the manpower infrastructure criteria. Besides, the Ministry of Finance has increased by 1 rank compared to 2017 (from the second rank to the first rank) on information technology application in ministries and Government’s agencies providing public service.
Among the agencies under the Government that do not provide public services, the Vietnam Television is ranked first, and is followed by the Voice of Vietnam, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
In the provinces and cities under the central government, Da Nang city continues to be ranked first, Ho Chi Minh City at second and Hanoi at third.
The last four places in the ranking are KonTum at 60th, Bac Lieu at 61st Hau Giang at 62nd and Lai Chau at 63rd.
2018 is the 13th year that the Ranking on the readiness for Information and Communications Technology application and development in Vietnam (Vietnam ICT Index 2018) has been published.
With the policy of maintaining criteria for at least 3 years to further facilitate surveyed agencies in collecting data and comparing the ranking results of the years, the criteria system in 2018 is the same as in 2017.

According to the assessment, Vietnam ICT Index has positive impacts on IT application promotion and development of many agencies and organizations of Vietnam. Many ministries, sectors, provinces and cities, including the Ministry of Finance, have developed IT indicators by themselves.
It is known that until 2018, the Department of Financial Informatics and Statistics, Ministry of Finance have developed the annual ICT Index of the Finance sector and published the results of the rankings on the Website http://efinance.vn (or http://taichinhdientu.vn) for 11 consecutive years .
