Recently (November 28-29), a survey team that introduced destinations, connected tours and tour routes of more than 200 tour operators across the North, Central, and South regions visited Moc Chau (Son La).

This was an opportunity for the tourism industry of Son La province in general and Van Ho and Moc Chau, in particular, to promote strong products and tourism potential. This was also an opportunity for tourism service businesses in the area and provinces to exchange and connect with buyers. Thanks to that, they could grasp trends and tastes, build new tours, routes and products, and exploited potential markets in the future.

As a companion to organize the survey, General Director of VOH Consulting, Hotel Management and Real Estate Co., Ltd., Tourism Consultant and Management of Glenda Tower Moc Chau Hotel, Geoffrey Nguyen said that Van Ho and Moc Chau are home to many scenic spots with a cool and fresh climate. These are the ideal destinations for tourists to visit and relax.

However, the local accommodation system is not enough to meet the needs of tourists as well as the available potential of Van Ho, Moc Chau, especially high-class hotels from four stars or more for visitors with high rates and high requirements for facilities as well as service quality. Glenda Tower Hotel Moc Chau was born to catch up with this trend.

It is known that Son La tourism industry aims to develop Moc Chau National Tourist Area to become one of the leading tourist areas of the Northern midlands and mountains. Simultaneously, the Son La hydropower reservoir is built to become a national tourist area. By 2025, Son La will welcome 5.2 million visitors, total revenue from tourism services will reach VND5,800 billion, an average growth of 15-20%/year. To develop Son La tourism in the right direction and have good tourism products, this province is determined to promote investment, focusing on building a master plan on tourism development, including a synchronous plan on infrastructure and accommodation facilities.

From December 2 to 4, the Lai Chau Culture and Tourism Week will be held in HCM City with the theme "About Lai Chau’s magnificent peaks". Tong Thanh Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, said that Lai Chau tourism has not yet developed to meet its potential and advantages. The Culture - Tourism Week is expected to create positive effects in tourism cooperation between Lai Chau and HCM City in particular and southern provinces and cities in general. Thereby, travel businesses can learn and link to build tours to exchange visitors between provinces and cities.

Many other localities such as Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Binh Phuoc, and Binh Thuan are also busy organizing promotional events, surveying, and promoting tourism to invest in upgrading new tourism products, as well as attracting domestic and international tourists.

For the tourism industry in HCM City, Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of HCM City Department of Tourism, said that from now until the end of the year, the city's tourism industry would focus on attracting international tourists, promoting activities to increase revenue, and contributing from tourism as the focus instead of attracting tourists.

Specifically, HCM City will continuously implement plans to welcome international guests, support immigration procedures for international delegations; and coordinate with airlines to restore and develop tourism markets associated with a number of regular international routes to Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, and the US.

The fact showed that linkage not only enhances the comparative advantage of localities and regions to form tourism products, but also supports local tourism businesses to connect tours. In particular, it has been highly effective during the reopening of Vietnam's tourism after the isolation period because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Information published by the General Statistics Office showed that international visitors to Vietnam in November 2022 reached 596,900 arrivals, up 23.2% over the previous month and 39.7 times higher than the same period last year. This is because Vietnam has opened up to tourism, and international flight routes have been restored.
