Imported goods with Vietnamese code not grounds to conclude fake origin

Vietnamese codes and barcodes (893) on imported goods and packages of imported goods will be accepted if there is a written authorization for the joint venture or processing partner to use the code and barcode according to regulations in Article 19b of the Government’s Decree No. 74/2018 / ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 (amending and supplementing several articles of Decree 132/2008 / ND-CP of December 31, 2008 detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on product and goods quality).Accordingly, the Government Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP dated April 14, 2017 on goods labels, codes and barcodes are not required contents stating goods labels.
Imported goods with Vietnamese codes and barcodes are not a ground to conclude those goods have fake Vietnamese origin.

The attachment of oversea codes or barcodes to Vietnamese exported goods under agreements by traders must be in accordance with Vietnamese law.
