Ha Noi Tax Department shall review the invoicing and tax payment for Grab’s partners

Hanoi Tax Department has received the official letter from Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department providing information about Grab’s revenue sharing to its partners in 2015 and 2016. The list includes 200 companies in Hanoi city.
As a result, the Hanoi Tax Department has asked its branches to check the invoicing, review and urge the declaration and payment of value added tax and corporate income tax of the listed companies. The branches are also required to review and urge the deduction, declaration and payment of taxes on behalf of drivers when paying remuneration to individuals engaged in transport business in accordance with regulations.
In the list of revenue sharing of Grab to its partners in 2015, the partner which received the biggest shared revenue was Vietnam Transportation Development Cooperative (nearly VND 3.9 billion). Besides, some companies receiving big share revenue such as: Dai Tin Thanh Nam., JSC (nearly VND 3.5 billion), Ha Noi Transport Service., JSC (over VND 1 billion) and Thanh My Cooperative (nearly VND 895 million)., etc. ..
In 2016, the revenue of these partners sharply increased. Specifically, the Global Transportation Cooperative achieved a revenue of more than VND 21.6 billion; Viet Nam Transportation Development Cooperative collected over VND 20.6 billion. Other companies with big revenue were Dai Tin Thanh Nam JSC (over VND14.7 billion), An Phat Khanh Investment JSC (more than VND 10 billion), and Thanh My Cooperative (over VND 7.3 billion).

According to information from the General Department of Taxation, the total revenue of Grab in 2014, 2015 and 2016 was VND 1.755 billion. However, Grab has accumulated a loss of more than VND 938 billion since operating in Vietnam from February 2014 to this date.
